Is it justified that heroes take it all ?

History says that Neil Armstrong was the first man to set foot on moon...With that he entered the immortal books of history......The whole world is full of praises for him.....'one small human step and a giant leap for mankind' is taught to every kid in their school...Now this where people like me raise questions which are uncomfortable but are true.....Even before listening , people jump to the conclusions that any opinion contrary to the generally agreed facts is Illegal or immoral...Read the next few paragraphs with open mind and you will see what I am trying to say.

What about the thousands of engineers and ground crew who made this mission possible ? How many of us can imagine the pressure some of the young guys had to tolerate ? Let me help you with this....The country of your president asks you to do wonder science...All of us bend over backwards to please our bosses or teachers when given a task....Now imagine the order coming from the president of a super-power nation....It goes without saying that most of the NASA guys at that time would have given up personal life completely.....

They put their soul and blood into it...and one fine day bunch of elite people touch the moon , utter jack wayne style dialogues, schmooze with world media and come back home............What bou the not so glamorous people involved in this project ??? Most of them would be nerds who just see the technical aspect of this entire thing ? Probably, they would be happy to compute the angular velocity of the shuttle in less than 5 minutes when it was 30 thousand feet above ground ....The computer would do this in a nanosecond anyways...

The point is that they are rendered to the technicality and are totally unaware of the other aspects of these kind of success.....JFK took the credit for putting man on the man, Armstrong took the credit for stepping on the man...Why would anyone remember the name of the engineer who designed the ignition switch or the reinforced glass window....This guy might have lost his 5 years sleep, his wife and kids etc etc doing this crucial thing......The point here is that we need people who dont ask credit for their work and yet to do the best work....The cream floats on top of the liquid ...Similarly the world thrives on mediocre and self-effacing people....I am not going to preach as to where one should be in such situation.....I have made my choice, now it is upto you....

Heros are symbolic, neil armstrong was the culmination of the effort of people who made lunar landing possible, the face of their success.

And heroes are inevitable. Its sad so much goes into worshiping the hero rather than what he/she symbolizes.

Thats very very true ....its just that the people who do it become the face of name and fame ....the background staff is never let to come to the forefront ..or rather never allowed to come ....this is totally the case of "You have it ..You Falunt it"...
nice thot though

Its a nice topic to discuss... I always believe in the motive/thought behind a work than the person who has presented it.

The key is not every one can maintain every one. Its only the LEADERS/Heroes who represent the group and take the Credit (Succes has many fathers whereas Failure is often an orphan!!!). What if the space ship crashed???

Coming to the other side of the story.... I strongly believe that "No Man has Stepped on Moon yet!!!!", there are dozens of documentaries which prove this.

Nobody can succeed without the cooperation of somebody. But human psychology most of the times searches for a face to be identified with the success or failure. I think we all have to grin and bear it rather than finding fault with the human nature.

I am totally with you on this one topic there are a lot binary and tertiary inputs involved in preparation of a primary output in our case it is sheer manpower using their brain, energy, life preparing and implementing still they are unknown and their recognition has no importance as it should be!!!!
